IMCO/S [Roche Image Analysis Systems, Inc.]

IMCO/S provides an economical digital image processing research anddevelopment system which comprises software for gray-tone, real-colorimage processing, and pattern recognition.The microprogrammmable pipeline processor has 32K x 96 bits ofmicroprogram storage, 1024 16-bit registers, and 64K x 17-bit, high-speedcache memories. There are 8 to 512 MB of expandable image memory, withfreely definable image sizes; depth, 8 bits per pixel plus single-bitoverlay. The image format is up to 4096 x 4096 pixels. The memory addresscontroller addresses the image memory. It provides the system with zoom,pan, and roam functions. A 1280 x 1024 x 24 bit, 60 Hz non-interlaceddisplay is used for image presentation.The video I/O module handles image input and display in realtime, 8-bitADC with a 20 MHz conversion rate. CCIR, PAL, and NTSC are standard.Digital input is also available with a sustained transfer rate of 10 MBper second, and a burst rate of 20 MB per second. This accommodates massstorage media or digital cameras including our ProgRes 3 RGB camerawith programmable resolution up to 2994 x 2320 x 24 bit.
